True Spirituality: Session 2 – Separate

Christians are called to live transformed lives rather than conforming to the world around them. In Romans 12:2, Paul commands believers, “Be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind.” Christian transformation is not about changing yourself through greater effort. It is God changing your outward life because of the new identity and inward reality He has already given you through Christ. The world constantly pressures believers to fit its values, desires, and priorities. God offers something better. As Christians renew their minds through hearing, reading, studying, memorizing, and meditating on God’s Word, the Holy Spirit transforms them to become more like Christ. A transformed Christian life begins with faith in Jesus, continues through the daily renewal of the mind, and requires continual surrender to God. Don’t let the world determine who you become. Let God transform you through His truth.
