True Spirituality: Session 1 – Surrender

Preacher:
Passage: Romans 12:1
Service Type:
What does it really mean to surrender to God? Romans 12:1 describes true spirituality as presenting ourselves to God as a living, holy, and acceptable sacrifice. Rather than forced submission or religious performance, Christian surrender is a willing response to the mercy God has already shown us through Jesus Christ. Our identity in Christ changes who we are, but experiencing the abundant Christian life requires yielding our minds, bodies, plans, possessions, and futures to God. Real surrender is living—a daily choice to remain on the altar. It is holy—giving God every part of ourselves rather than choosing which areas He can control. And it is acceptable—offered by faith rather than an attempt to earn God's favor. Surrender may feel like losing something, but Romans 12 reveals the opposite. When we understand God's mercy and our identity in Christ, surrender becomes the doorway to true spirituality.
