We can know how God can provide for our needs by seeing how he provided a king for Israel.

What do we do when we have a big need and we do not know how it will work out?

How does God respond?

1. Man panics. God provides. (1 Samuel 16:1-4)

2. Man chooses. God corrects. (1 Samuel 16:5-10)

3. Man forgets. God remembers. (1 Samuel 16:11-19)

3 Lessons we learn in application:

1. God’s solutions are often strange and simple, so be open.

2. God’s promotions are sudden and surprising, so be ready.

3. God’s selections are always sovereign and sure, so be sensitive.
